It is so exciting to see a finished project after working hard on a new collection of design or a series of illustrations for our clients. But with finished fabric designs it is even a bigger surprise to see what customers create. To see how final products evolve when people put their own creative energy in there is amazing.

If you browse around on Etsy or Instagram for some kids fashion or home decoration you are very likely to stumble upon some Little Smilemakers prints. Most creatives with small home based businesses sell their projects via internet and tag us via Instagram. So we see some amazing things pop up in our feed every month. We love how Little Smilemakers creations are the foundation for other creatives all around the world to work with. So here is our monthly blog post that features some creative results from the US, Australia, The Netherlands, New Zealand and Indonesia. This month we selected a whole bunch of crisp, minimal, Scandinavian inspired fabrics, clean whites with a color pop and monochrome prints turned into the most gorgeous items. Kids fashion, nursery accessories and home and interior decoration, so much to choose from! We have selected some cute harem pants, leggings, baby blankets, bibs and cool lion hats. Mooi
Mooi is a company that specializes in baby nursery textiles and home products for kids based in Indonesia. We love seeing our prints traveling all around the world. Their range of bedding and textile products is fresh and light. Their whimsical prints are on trend and we love their photography styling. Their collection is modern and Scandinavian inspired with lot's of white and color pops. For their new collection they selected our triangles and turned them into these awesome blankets. Kidooz
Kidooz is a Dutch shop full of fun kids toys, clothes and accessories. They offer a small collection of baby, toddler and kids clothing all eco friendly and we selected our bubbles and pineapples for this months made with. These prints fit perfectly in our Scandinavian style November post don't you think? Looking for a fun gift or wanna get your hands on one of these cute leggings? Ollie & Coco
Ollie & Coco is a small company based in Australia and makes adorable baby bandana's and bibs. They just added a big selection of Little Smilemakers prints to their shop. We love designing on a clear white background and clearly we are a good fit. We love to see so many of our designs pop up in their shop so we thought a little shout out was in place. We love to see some less obvious prints used for baby items. Those coffee cups and percolator bibs are perfect for caffeine loving mummies! Or Italy lovers like me. Okay, I might go for a headband then... Wanna get your hands on one of these cool new bibs? Check out their shop!

Little Pitterpat
Every month a new set of soft soles pops up in our feed. Little Pitterpat has been using our designs for over two years now and we keep loving the way our fabrics are turned into the most adorable shoes. These soft soles baby shoes are made by Sharie. All items are made by hand in Sharies studio in Montana. For this months 'Made with' post we selected their new Raccoon Cactus print. One of our fave designs suitable for both boys and girls and we know how handy those gender neutral items can be. Looking for a baby shower gift? These cute shoes make a great present. So take a look into her shop if you want to have a pair of these. She has over 500 different items, yes lot's of different prints as well, to choose from.

We love this African Lion print and are happy to see this new design pop up on finished items. Daily Objects // New Tote Bags, Phone Cases, Pillows, Pouches and Notebooks

For over three years now we have been working together with Daily Objects. The company started out selling phone cases and accessories but has grown into a full trendy lifestyle brand. They have expanded their collection with stationary products, tote bags, pillow cases and so much more cool stuff. So as you can imagine it was about time to post a little piece about this company before the holiday craziness kicks in.

In Holland they have banned plastic bags, a cool shopper is a must. Oh yes and of course Daily Objects offers world wide shipping on their products too.

Notebooks
Ok as a designer I am pretty much a paper lover by heart. So when we found out Daily Objects was also making Notebooks we got super excited. We love those notebooks. I am a pretty neurotic list keeper so I can never have enough notebooks in stock. These notebooks have a soft matte finish. Perfect for some classroom notes or scribblings.

Cushion Covers
As a print designer my couch is filled with cool pillows. Daily Objects now offers cushion covers too. These cushions are a great gift for your BFF’s birthday or as a sweet house warming present. Many of our Indian themes are selected for their pillow range. There are some abstracts and Scandinavian inspired designs to choose from too. Take a look and smile up your new home!

Oh and don't worry they still sell over a 100 different cell phone case versions, protective cases, transparent cases and wood cut cases. Also they have some cool laptop sleeves and leather items. Fabric Feature Friday: Oxzyde Homewares

Little Smilemakers Studio sells around 2500 designs on fabric all over the world. From Spoonflower to Robert Kaufman, Hemmers Itex and small online fabric shops in Europe our fabric travels fast. Every first Friday of each month we feature one of our fabric customers. From small start up businesses in home decor to stay at home mommies who create cute little fashion for there kids. Some just pop out.

This Friday we would like to share this great BigCartel shop: Oxzyde Homewares. An interior brand with handmade cushions, wall art & homewares based in Melbourne, Australia. Oxzyde was founded by Caiti who has a background in graphic design and art, she wanted to create a unique brand, stay away from mass production. Her style is minimalistic, honest, clean and full of typographic influences and with a little edge. She uses stencils and raw materials that give her range of product an unique look and feel. All her products are handmade and her fabric items are all made with organic materials. We are honored she picked our feathers and geometric triangle fabric for her range of cushions and multi-functional storage bags.

"To me this brand is about creating art not just products. It's about removing the notion of mass production and creating an imperfect process of creation. It's the happy accidents that make something great. I'd like to think that you, the customer, will be able to look at your piece and know that it will never be identical to another, and that's its charm."

New range for Daily Objects India // geometric summer prints and scandinavian style animal designs // iphone cases and laptop sleeves make a perfect gift

More than 150 Little Smilemakers designs are being sold via Daily Objects. We started working with daily objects almost two years ago when they started to sell iPhone cases on the Indian market. Over these past few years the company has expanded it's product range and also offers wooden cases and most recently Daily Objects launched their series of laptop sleeves.

Christmas is coming closer and we are working on new designs so you can order some cute presents. These new trendy laptop sleeves & confetti make a perfect gift for your girlsfriend or sister. Meet the adorable Archie
Meet Archie, the newest member of the owl tribe. Don't you love this teepee cactus woodland print? This cuddly owl was made by Andrea who owns the All Things Owls Big Cartel shop where she sells her cute cuddly owls and fun kids fashion pieces. She also attends local markets so if you are living in Australia, I know, it is huge, check dates and locations where she will be selling her owls on her Facebook page. Take a look in her webshop, maybe you can find something for your little one! There are also some more Little Smilemakers prints on there.

Flamingo's and palm trees
We love to see how carefully picked fabrics are turned into pieces of fashion and home decor. These flamingo's we have never seen a finished item of so we were so happy to see Ollie & Mojo's cute Flamingo range of baby and toddler items and when we looked on their Facebook page we noticed another summer hot seller: Our cool palm tree print. Such a cute combo! Ollie & Mojo has a fun whimsical organic baby and kids range. A mixture of trendy, alternative clothing and accessories to make your Kids stand out from the crowd! Fun New York City and Penguin tea towels
Ryaabaa Kokoko is a Russian company run by Vika that creates the most adorable little long sleeved t-shirts, leggings, blankets, tea towels and PJ's from our less trending designs. She has an eye for colorful and fun and just-a-little-different prints and her shop is such a delight. These tea towels would throw a party in your kitchen when you're not looking! You can follow her Instagram account and watch all her creative projects.

Fresh geometrics and Scandinavian style kids fashion at Kewe Clothing
This Canadian company provides easy to style clothing and complementary accessories for the tiny trend setters in your life. Their soft, breathable organic and bamboo fabrics are printed in small batches with water based inks to ensure premium quality while leaving them safe against baby’s delicate skin and for the environment. Handcrafted in beautiful British Columbia Canada, each piece is as comfortable and functional as it is fashionable. We found some of Little Smilemakers geometric triangles and pink diamond fabric used in their new kids collection when a customer tagged us on Instagram. Whimsical foxes for your kids interior
You might know My Little Hands by now, an Australian based company we have created several designs for. The company is run by the gorgeous Emma. She has a heart for true designs and asked me to create a range of products for her shop. We started out with a series around the water colored foxes. A cute simple repeat of these yellow creatures is now available on cute blankets and other MLH items. Since the shop is growing rapidly Emma has taken a new approach to her business and rebranded her My Little Hands shop that is now named My Little Organics. With a new logo and new designs we wish here all the best!

New series of designs // Bambino Mio nappies

Before we close up for the weekend and finish Valentine preperations there is a little cute something to share here on the blog. This fall we have been working on a series of new designs for Bambino Mio. And after months of patiently waiting the new range of four designs is finally out in the shops.

Bambino Mio is a company that specialized in baby goods and last year we collaborated for their first patterned Miosolo reusable diaper series. After launching four Little Smilemakers Studio designs last year we were asked to add another batch of designs to their adorable baby range.

This time all nappies are gender neutral and to celebrate the new Miosolo prints, Bambino Mio has a little giveaway on their Facebook page. So do check out the new Cheeky Monkey, Circus Time, Pandamonium and Forest Friends designs. And look at those cute little models! Pick your favorite and enter their Facebook competition.

Be my valentine // new postcard & print designs // lovely mail

Little Smilemakers designs are available at several postcard and stationary companies all around the world. There is one company in Holland we are working for directly. Kaartje2Go is an online website from which you can send out a postcard to your loved one. You can choose a designs, add images and can even upload text in your own handwriting.

Since social media took over there are not many people sending out postcards anymore but digital mailing services have grown ever since. It is all about that little sweet gesture. Who doesn't want to receive a little note from their loved one with Valentine's Day? I must say it has been a few years, well maybe even 10. Yes, I know how to pick some very unromantic boyfriends (working on that!) Hopefully my Valentine knows how to surprise me this year. No need for a big present. Just a little note is more that enough.

Last year typical red and pink prints were hot sellers. Popular trends this year are minimalistic designs. Basic black and whites with color pops. A more simplistic style related to the Scandinavian trend going on in surface pattern design. But also typography in trending this year. Hand lettering with sweet notes with a little quirky touch. With a background in typography it is always nice to step aside from our daily surface pattern design routine. These hand lettered designs were made in ink and pencil.
