Customer Spotlight: Pawsome Paws seamless pattern designs for dog accessories

It’s been years since we started working with Pawesome Paws. This beautiful business was then a one-human handmade business and over the years they turned out to be a hit on the UK dog accessory market. Sophie, who started Pawesome Paws in her spare bedroom turned her life around, started her business and now has a flourishing brand, one of the largest dog accessory companies based in the UK, selling homewares, sportswear, dog accessories and sooooo much more.

It’s been so lovely watching her grow from the side lines and see our designs in her collections. Over the years we created many designs from colorful leopard prints to Valentine themes. Here’s a little trip down memory lane with Gregory & Georgina the giraffes. Celebrating their 4 year anniversary at Pawsome Paws Boutique. Two prints that are part of their all-time best selling designs. They sure are pretty cute right? They still have some harnesses, leashes, bows and poop bag holders in stock. So if you need something cute for your pupper check their website.

Our Giraffes were part of our non-exclusive design portfolio and first licensed non-exclusively. After 4 years Sophie purchased a buy out, so they found a forever home with Pawsome Paws. Need some prints for your products too? You can find more info about using our designs on our website.

The Lookbook: Summer Meadow

This year we launched 13 lookbooks already. But we completely forgot to mention them here n the blog. Some collections are made, inspired by travels, others are inspired by nature, or every day life. Our sunrise meadow is a personal tale.

The past four years Maaike has bee struggling with her health a lot. Long covid on chronic illness has hit pretty hard. But little walks around her neighborhood every day kept her grounded and in touch with nature. These small elements of every day pops of life were the inspiration for this collection. Small blooming flowers in early March. Insects and bees. Leaves. Colors bringing nature back to life after winter time. The transition to new possibilities and growth.

4 years have flown by. And the power of creation has kept her mentally strong. This collection is one of hope and future. These designs are now available for licensing. And we also have some of these designs available on fabric & wallpaper through our partners at Carriage House Printery & Spoonflower. Want to be kept in the loop and get these new prints straight into your inbox? Sign up to our newsletter and become a Little Smilemakers insider.

Easter Designs are here & a little update from our creative studio

It's been way to quiet here on the blog. The past year we've been in this very bad relationship with social media consuming all our time! But it's time to get back to what we love most and that's reating print designs! And of course we still want to have a platform to showcase what we're doing. Our blog space seems to be a good spot for that. Without adds and spamming followers without consent. This feels like a safer space to put our work out there.

Last month we launched 4 new collections and if you're signed up to our newsletter you probably have viewed them already. We created new valentine designs, St. Patrick's Day patterns and we created a great amount of new print designs for Easter & Springtime. And, 4th of July! if you also want to stay in the loop and view new designs: Sign up to our newsletter!

Hopefully in 2024 we can revamp this page and get more consistent posting what's going on behind the scenes and what's been leaving our creative studio! We have so many beautiful projects to share. Logo designs, new dog accessory collabs. We've been working with some new fabric supplyers, so next to Spoonflower you can also find our designs at Tiska & Carriage house. A lot to share so stay tuned!

Licensing print designs
If you would like to license our prints for your business too please send us a message. Reach out if you need something custom for your brand. We license print designs all over the world, and we love to welcome new collabs.

Finished Work: Pawsome Paws Boutique // Pet Accessories // Fall launch 2020

When summer is coming to an end it is time to show you the newest fall products that are launched. For Pawsome Paws Boutique we’ve been licensing a bunch of new fabric designs. Some flowers, leaves, rainbows and giraffes.

For this fall collection we mostly used gender neutral colors. Sophie wanted to make the collection as versatile as possible and she has chosen to use a bunch of neutral colored designs for this fall collection that can be used for boys & girls. Mustard, Blue and gray and she release another giraffe print so now there’s a his and hers. We are super excited to see how these prints turned out. We love seeing them on poop bags and harnesses and the best thing in the world: those furry pups wearing them. We can't get enough of these customer images.
We licensed these four prints with a non-exclusive license. These designs are still available in our Spoonflower fabric shop and for other types of businesses who'd love to use them for their products. See something you like? Want to use some of our designs on your products too? If you'd like to find out all there is to know about licensing, visit our website for all info. Finished Work: The new Poppy + Ted Collection is live

We love working with Paige, she had the most adorable furry customers. Who doesn’t want to see their work turned into something gorgeous? It makes it even more fun when those print designs are turned into dog accessories. For the new Spring launch we’ve licensed 3 exclusive designs that were used for their Walk & Wear collection.

For this dog accessories brand we created three new exclusive designs. And as you might know, we’ve been creating some designs for Poppy + Ted for a while now. Paige has a great eye for clean and minimal prints, so for this launch we made three very simplistic surface pattern designs. The Plus, The Strokes and The Dots. The palette is a pastel one matching the Poppy + Ted design language which contains soft tones and strong monochromes. Combined with quirky pops of color here and there. We picked a cool baby blue, soft pink on a soft beige background and one monochrome palette to make the collection suitable for both genders. But pinks should definitely not be limited to those girl pups right? We love using girly tones for boys and forget about gender.

We finished up these designs just before the holidays so we’re super excited they’re here already. We love showing finished results! All three designs are available in harnesses, leashes and collars. So if you’re looking for something cute for your dog to wear, check the Poppy + Ted website. Paige is also having some fun giveaways to celebrate these new print designs, so check them on Insta too if you want to join.

Looking for some exclusive designs for your brand too? Please check our website for all rates and licensing options. If you’d like some more info just fill out the contact for on our website or click here to send us a quick email.

If you browse around Etsy or if you check Instagram for some kids fashion or accessories you are very likely to stumble upon some Little Smilemakers prints every now and then. Most creatives that use our fabrics have small home-based businesses and sell their projects online and tag us via Instagram. We love how Little Smilemakers creations are the foundation for other creatives all around the world to work with. One of our most fave collabs this year was with Paige, who’s the creator of Poppy and Ted dog accessories. We wanted to show you two of the panther print creations; the cameo harness and the pink cotton print she has available on collars, leashes and harnesses. Which one is your fave? Check her shop for more prints & styles and all other panther palettes.

This UK shop turned a bunch of our animal prints in little monster bandana’s. And they also made some cute little bows for our furry friends. For this post we wanted to feature this gorgeous long-haired kitten wearing their pink bandana. The cuteness! Visit their shop for all fun pet accessories.

Dog Accessories // Poppy + Ted dog collars and leashes

When I started the studio 8 years ago, surface pattern designs was not very much a thing. And there were not may designers targeting kids or pets. We’ve always worked on designs for all target groups. We’ve designs prints for walking sticks and wheel chairs, baby nursery textiles and kids collections. And of course we have lot’s of clients in the woman’s and mens fashion industry. The past year we’ve been working with lot’s of pet businesses, somehow our designs are getting more and more popular for dog and cat accessories. We’ve been adding three new pet accessories businesses to our list of clients only this past month! But Poppy + Ted must be our fave so far.

Poppy + Ted is an online dog accessories shop. Focussing on dog collars and leashes. And for their spring collection they have used a whole bunch of our print designs. We love the story of Paige, who started her webshop simply because she loves sewing and creating. Teddy is her model sidekick, the Frenchie part of the team, and her business was named after both her niece and her fave furry colleague/friend. Her dog accessories, leashes, collars, and harnesses have become a great hit and it is awesome to see her small business growing.

Paige has a soft spot for animal prints and minimals, and used a whole bunch of our leopard designs for her new spring/summer collection. She even matched her manicure with the new collection. Obviously, we needed to share her fun creations on our blog. Take a look on her website and enjoy her minimal, abstract inspired new collection.

All designs used for her pet products are also available on fabric in our Spoonflower shop. So if you’d like to use one of these designs take a look in our webshop. Various scales and colors are available. But if you need another version, just reach out. We’re happy to help and add new colors and scales for you. Are you curious about how to license our designs for your business? Click here to send us a message and let's chat!
